laa is an architectural firm based in Torino, Taichung, New York. laa has been internationally recognized and exhibited at the Biennale of Venice 2018. Founded in 1999 by Lorena Alessio, the studio is distinguished by its multidisciplinary approach to masterplanning, architectural design including landscape architecture, interior design and brand identity, both nationally and internationally. laa has been cooperating with renowed architects worldwide. Each project is the result of daily suggestions and formal experimentations combined with technological innovation. The interaction between space and user is at the base of laa’s methodology. The moving freely of the users through the ambient is obtained through the break of clear boundaries, with a predominance of intermediate and undefined spaces. The transition from emptiness to fullness is a recurring concept in projects, always seeking maximum lightness of expression. Technological Innovation and Sustainable Architecture, Architectural and Urban Design, Re-styling, Interior Design, and Graphics are the studio’s main focus.

The deeply connected research to a constant comparison between Art, Architecture and Technology is the leitmotif of Lorena Alessio’s style. Her interest towards the infinitely small, the mutability of nature and her life experiences in culturally distant countries translate into evocative, wide-ranging architectural proposals, combined with an interest in the study of Italian and Japanese cities.

Rosalì Alessio, cresciuta al ritmo dei ‘Carosello’, ha da sempre la passione per la grafica, la comunicazione ed i viaggi. Specializzata in tecniche di MKT, ufficio stampa, dtp, interior design e corporate identity.
